Pikachu is a common Pokemon card from Pokemon Base Set, card 58 of 102, released January 9, 1999 in the Base series. The illustration is by Mitsuhiro Arita.

The red-cheeked Base Set Pikachu is a common, not a rare — but it is the mascot's first English set card, and the early print variant with yellow cheeks is one of the best-known error-style variants in the hobby. Graded gem copies of a 1999 common are far scarcer than the card's rarity symbol suggests.
