FAQ
Company, vault, and Sui details: About Rip Station.
- Is Rip Station legit?
- Rip Station is operated by Byzantine Port Technologies Inc., a Panama company and subsidiary of Byzantion Inc., a Delaware corporation. The service is at ripstation.io. You buy digital goods with randomized contents—not marketed as gambling—and each opening assigns a real graded card stored in insured third-party vaults. Rip Station is a custodial agent, not an insurer. After purchase you hold title and may keep the card vaulted, ship the slab, or within seven days optionally sell it back at 83% of current estimated market value, not pack price. Buyback is not guaranteed liquidity. There is no shutdown fund; if the service ends, vaulted items typically have a 30-day claim window. Sui records represent vaulted items, not equity.
- What is Rip Station?
- Rip Station is a virtual card vending machine. Each pack you rip pulls a real, professionally graded card from our vault held under your name until you decide to sell it back, ship it, or keep it.
- Who operates Rip Station?
- Rip Station is operated by Byzantine Port Technologies Inc., a company incorporated under the laws of the Republic of Panama and a subsidiary of Byzantion Inc., a Delaware corporation. The service is accessible at ripstation.io. The Panama office is Ave. Samuel Lewis y Calle 55, Edificio P. H. SL55, Piso 21, Panama City, Republic of Panama.
- Why does ripstation.xyz redirect to ripstation.io?
- ripstation.io is the canonical website. Requests to ripstation.xyz permanently redirect to the same path on ripstation.io, including referral query strings. Product images are served from images.ripstation.xyz, a separate CDN host. Support and legal mailboxes are support@ripstation.io and legal@ripstation.io.
- Is ripping packs gambling?
- Pack openings are purchases of digital goods with randomized contents. They are not marketed, offered, or intended as gambling products. Regulatory definitions vary by jurisdiction, and you are responsible for whether your use is lawful where you live. Rip Station does not declare legality in every jurisdiction.
- How does the 83% buyback work?
- Pull a card you don't want? Sell it back instantly at 83% of its current market value. The card returns to the vault and the payout lands in your wallet, ready to spend on another pack or cash out anytime.
- How is the 83% buyback calculated?
- The standard buyback pays 83% of a card's current estimated market value, not 83% of the pack price and not a guaranteed refund. The window is seven days after each rip and taking it is optional: you can keep the card vaulted or ship the slab instead. Offers are time-limited. Rip Station may suspend, modify, or discontinue buyback. Check the actual offer before accepting; estimated values and promotional terms can change.
- How are cards valued?
- We price every card based on real recent sales across the trading card market, so values move with the market in real time. The same data drives the 83% instant buyback.
- What can I do after I rip a pack?
- After a pack opening assigns a card, you can keep it in the vault under your name, request shipment of the physical slab, or—while a buyback offer is open—sell it back at the disclosed rate. Pack purchases are final and non-refundable. Shipping is requested per card.
- Are the cards real and physically graded?
- Yes. Every card in the machine is a real, professionally graded card stored in our secure vault. When you ship, the physical card ships to your door.
- Who holds the physical cards?
- Physical collectibles are stored at third-party professional vault and grading facilities. Rip Station acts as a custodial agent. Users retain ownership; title is assigned when a purchase completes. Rip Station maintains insurance coverage for vaulted assets subject to policy terms, deductibles, limits, and vault-partner agreements. Rip Station itself does not act as an insurer of stored goods.
- Are vaulted cards insured?
- Vaulted assets are stored in insured third-party facilities, but coverage is subject to the terms, deductibles, and limits of the applicable policies and vault-partner agreements. Rip Station is not itself an insurer. Insurance is not a promise of full recoverability if a card is lost or damaged.
- What does Sui represent?
- Sui is the blockchain used for the digital record of a vaulted card and for wallet balances. That on-chain representation is not equity, debt, revenue share, governance rights, or an investment contract. A Sui record is not the same as physical possession or a solvency guarantee. Shipping the slab is a separate redemption from vault storage.
- How long does shipping take?
- Shipping within the US takes 5-10 business days on average. International timelines vary by destination.
- What is a wallet, and do I need one?
- A wallet is just your account, it's where your cards and payouts live. The easiest way to start is signing in with your email; we'll create one for you automatically in the background, no setup required. Already have a Sui wallet? Click "Connect" in the header to use it instead.
- What can I pay with?
- The easiest way is at checkout with a credit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay, all powered by Coinflow. To skip credit card fees, you can fund your Rip Station wallet first via the on-ramp, then pay from your balance. If you already hold USDC (a stable digital dollar that always equals $1), that works too.
- How are pack odds calculated?
- Odds are computed from the live composition of the vault and shown on each pack's page. They update as the vault contents change.
- How do live pack odds work?
- Each pack's odds come from the live composition of cards then loaded in that machine, not from a fixed sealed-product pull-rate table. Odds update as cards are pulled and the vault is restocked. Every opening is random given the current pool. Published odds are not a cryptographic proof of fairness. See the EV page for the current snapshot; this FAQ does not freeze live numbers.
- Where can I see expected value?
- The EV page publishes dated snapshots of pack price, estimated card-value expected value, keep-or-ship edge, and how optional buyback changes the math. Figures are averages from the cards then in each machine, not a promise of profit. Estimated market value is not guaranteed proceeds.
- Can I get a refund on a pack?
- Purchases of digital packs are final and non-refundable. Randomized outcomes may be worth less than the amount paid. Past results do not predict future outcomes. Optional buyback, when offered, is a separate time-limited sale of the assigned card at a percentage of estimated market value, not a pack refund.
- What happens if Rip Station shuts down?
- There is no shutdown payout fund and no guaranteed buyback if the service ends. The terms provide a reasonable period, typically thirty days, to initiate a claim for physical collectibles in vault storage. Where technically feasible, digital assets may be accessed through third-party services or external wallets, and available wallet balances may be withdrawn during that window. Assets of sanctioned users may be frozen.
- Who is allowed to use Rip Station?
- You must be at least 18 or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater, have legal capacity, and not be a resident of a prohibited jurisdiction or subject to applicable sanctions. Rip Station may require identity verification. Using a VPN or proxy to circumvent geographic restrictions is prohibited.
- How do I contact support?
