A Korean Project Ditto Promo in PSA 10, $246: How Regional Promos Get Priced, and Why the 10 Matters More on Them

This issue's quiz card is a 2025 Korean SV-P promo from the Project Ditto series: a Ditto disguised as a Lapras, with Pikachu riding along, distributed through a QR stamp rally at Korean Pokemon Center events. It is in PSA 10 and loaded in Rip Station's $250 machine with a mark of $246.

What it is

Project Ditto is a promo series in which Ditto appears disguised as a different Pokemon on each card. The cards are given out at events rather than sold, and the stamp rally versions required completing a set of QR-code check-ins at Pokemon Center locations in Korea. Nobody outside Korea could get one at the time, the total number is small, and the number that reached the international graded market is smaller.

How regional promos get priced

Three inputs. Effort: how hard the card was to get, which sets the population. Geography: how far the card is from the collectors who want it, which sets how much of that population is for sale. Condition: event handouts are carried, stamped, folded into bags and brought home in a pocket, and the share that reach a grader in gem condition is low. On a pack-fresh set card the 10 is often the normal state; on an event promo it is the exception, which is why the 10 premium on regional promos is typically larger than on cards from the same year that came out of boosters.

Why this one is $246

The card is scarce, the series is actively collected (Project Ditto completists want every disguise), and this copy is one of the few that survived an event in a 10. Raw copies trade for a fraction of that, because a raw event promo is assumed to have been handled. The 10 is the proof that it was not.

The general lesson

Regional promos are the part of the hobby where the grade and the scarcity compound rather than trade off. On the Base Set Pikachu the card was abundant and the grade scarce; on the Sylveon alt art the card was wanted and the grade abundant; on a Korean stamp rally promo the card is scarce and the grade is scarcer still. If you collect promos, grade them, because the 10 is where the value concentrates; if you are buying, pay for the 10 on event cards and save your money on the 10 for pack-fresh ones.
